Playing with Meaning
Fragments from imaginary dialogues
“I keep coming back to Brian Johnson’s beautiful framework:
The Big Three – the three most important areas of one’s life.
I play with it every day, in writing, to gain clarity on and as a memento of what’s most important. Also as an attempt to better integrate it in my own system of values, and as a map for my Beautiful Practice.
It’s an iterative process.”
“What does the latest iteration look like?”
“It looks like this:
This is an instance of what I call hierarchization. The three values at the top are a meta-level, a metaphoric filter through which I view the Big Three – as well as life and everything I do:
I view life and everything I do in aesthetic terms and as Sacred Play, and I view Presence as the highest-order practice of my life, which I train constantly, in everything I do.“
